For the love of our alien god, do not create disposable convenient items with power users in mind; create them for imbeciles. I KID! We have our touch-screens, and icons, and easy to access e-mail apps. As soon as we begin to speak of file-types and compatibility issues, you throw about 90% of people out of the loop.
